You Said You Wouldn't Look Here

Election Day 2020: When things get hard or scary because something doesn’t feel right, or honest, or healthy, we can turn to our faith in the love that people have for each other and their bedrock concerns for their communities. Political leaders are sometimes predisposed to tantrums that seem to threaten the fabric of our society, but more virtuous leaders will always emerge from other quarters who we will be able to encourage and empower. Look for the good, but also know that people from all persuasions, backgrounds, and races want to express their fears and be heard. I think it’s called democracy and I think it still works, even when disagreements seem to dominate our focus.
