Invitation

Spring arrives in new greens

Wardrobe opening under foot and

Over head

On the wooded path

Fresh mud accepts hopeful

Footsteps

Singular tufts of tender grass

Reaching toward mothering sky

Growing

A beckoning call, warming fields and

Opening delicate yet sturdy

Blooms

When the leaves filled the sky

Dancing, almost suspended by warm

Currents

I was transfixed, caught in the

Magical flow of nature’s dream of

Itself

March ending like none before it

Shuttered shops, humans in retreat

Untouched

Yet you have come to this day

As if invited by the source of your

Power

Sunshine spilling onto exposed

Shoulders in need of sweetened

Air

Allowing a tear to fall upon

Wet path of living soil now

Joined

Then like me you disappear

Returning dove-like to your home

Of peace
